Sneakerness Event: Cologne

After the displeasure of a ferry ride across the channel with our new AW10 collection in tow, I had the pleasure of attending the German leg of the 2010 sneakerness event with DQ, our footwear supremo.
Sneakerness is a concept devised by the guys at sneakers mag in Germany. It is a fine mix of trade show style exhibitions with market bazaar bartering for those one off nikes you’ve always wanted. The shows organisation was slick, the germans have got events sorted. We arrived to a decent size plot on the second floor of the XXI exhibition hall in Cologne. Naturally we figured that the car sized bridge leading up to the top floor was fit to drive our mini van across, hindsight and a stern talking to from the site manager let us know that clearly, it was not!

DQ was here with me to produce a pair of hand made sneakers from the sole up. I must have seen this process half a dozen times now but it still fascinates me to see a pair of sneaks hand constructed in front of you. This is where DQ started though and how he made a living working out of Barcelona before he started with Supremebeing. The process took about 6 hours all in all; it was great to see the real sneaker heads take an interest in the production process. The AW10 footwear collection was put on show grabbing a lot of attention from the dedicated nike and adidas supporters. Maybe it’s time for a change!!
Six or so hours in and the sneaks were done. All white, with an electric blue leather inner. Tight!
