Shean Williams
Solo Singer

After only a few moments with this young singer songwriter from Cambridge you know that music is his passion and his world.

In musical terms Shean is a modern renaissance man.  He is a chameleon who moves effortlessly between genres – Pop to R & B, Soul to Jazz, Gospel to Grime – it is this very inability to pigeon hole him that makes one realize what he truly has – a universal sound. His musical journey began with singing in the choir of his father’s church at the age of 5 and as a result his musical roots are very much bound to the Gospel tradition. He often refers to himself as the singing son of a Preacher Man. His career influences range from Kirk Franklin to Marvin Gaye and Fred Hammond to Michael Jackson and more currently Chris Brown and Kings of Leon.  One of the highlights of his young career was performing for Michael Jackson at the Hammersmith Apollo when he was 14.  He so admired and continues to do so Michael’s total commitment to his art and total professionalism. The image of Michael sitting offstage, moving to the beat of the music and gently
nodding his approval and smiling quietly will forever live in Shean’s memory – a pivotal moment for the young Shean Williams. Shean’s remarkable talent first saw him plucked from relative obscurity to work in New York, Los Angeles and Miami with some of the biggest names in the game such as Dave Tozer (John Legend’s producer) Salaam Remi (producer to Amy Winehouse, Alicia Keys and Nas to name but a few) and Mark Hill (otherwise known as the Artful Dodger) who has worked with Craig David, Daniel Bedingfield and Corrine Bailey Ray. It is not just about the musician or the man with Shean – it is about the spirit.  You just need to be with him on any level for a few moments to realize just how deep the spirit runs and it is this spirit that runs through all of his music. His music, at its most commercial to its most intimate, hits you – hits you rather like the first gentle and then fierce waves of falling in love.

2010 is the year; 24 years in the making – 24 years of waiting and now the music, the sound and soul are ready and Shean Williams is here to stay.
